Our handmade textile work has been created with fabrics resourced from local, now forgotten, textile mills and drapery shops surrounding Alamance County. For those unfamiliar, Alamance County is nestled right in the center of North Carolina - which, if you remember from your history books, has been producing high-quality textiles since 1813.
Over time, and with the growth of technology, textile factories in North Carolina have become almost obsolete. Outsourcing cheap textiles for fast fashion and home goods has increased textile waste and pollution to an all-time high. It's time to take back the industry and shift towards a more sustainable future.
HomeSewn Home Goods believes that it is our duty to produce luxurious and long-lasting products using the reclaimed, high-quality resources of our past and we are so happy to be part of the change. In early 2021, HomeSewn Home Goods relocated and expanded to include a new line of vintage clothing and accessories under the label Alley Bees. We hope that through this new venture we can preserve resources even more and help others become more sustainable.
