It’s that time of year again.
Spring is the time for change, it is when we welcome the new season and rejuvenate ourselves after the cold, dead winter. Out with the old, in with the new. Spring is a time for personal growth.
Spring cleaning? Spring cleaning sucks. Scrubbing every inch of your home and doing mind-numbing tasks like wiping the baseboards behind your refrigerator, ew.
The fact is, you have probably been shut up inside of your house for around 5 months now and the air is stale – there is a ton of dust and you really need to clean your carpets. It just makes sense to give your home a spring facelift. Plus, you will be doing yourself a favor when it comes to allergies.
Seriously, your carpets have become a breeding ground for airborne bacteria, mold spores, and dust mite feces - CLEAN IT (even under all of the furniture).
Spring is also a great time to go through your belongings and throw out all of the shit that you have not touched since last spring. You obviously do not need it, time to say goodbye to the clutter.
Getting rid of clutter is also really great for you. Just clearing out small bits of clutter frees your home and mind of excess and can help you be more productive in the future. Goodwill here you come!
Not enough to convince you yet? Well, cleaning is also great exercise. Ever scrubbed a bathtub so hard that your arms were Jell-o the next day? I have. Throw in some dance moves and you will have yourself a total body workout. After you clean the tub, you can relax your tired arms and body in it. WIN WIN.
Speaking of tunes – spring cleaning can actually make you happier. Simply put on your favorite playlist (here’s one that I made for you guys) and go to town.
The act of cleaning is actually proven to provide a sense of personal satisfaction and happiness – which can also reduce stress. So what are you waiting for? Those mold spores are only multiplying!
